Hey everyone! Today I finally have Part 2 of my China Glaze Crackle polish swatches.
Let me just start by saying, I love Crackle, but Crackle doesn't love me! I did these swatches four times - yes FOUR times! Every time I did it, something would go wrong and I would have to re-do them! So these pictures are the ones that I settled on when I got fed up! Once again, I only used China Glaze polishes for this post.
Lightning Bolt over Spontaneous - White creme with crackle polish. This one gave me a bit of trouble. Two things you must do with this polish to ensure it crackles properly: a) Make sure you shake the bottle really well before using it. I don't normally shake polish, but this one needed it because otherwise it was a little runny and patchy; b) Use the thinnest coat possible! If you stick to these rules you will get a great crackle. I didn't, so behold craptastic crackle!
Crackled Concrete over Re-Fresh Mint - Dark grey cream with crackle finish. I originally tried this one over Spontaneous, but there wasn't enough contrast. I really love greys and greens/blues together so I liked this combo.
Broken Hearted over Liquid Leather - Pink cream with crackle finish. This is my joint favourite with Black Mesh. I love the contrast with the black! I have been wearing this for two days! Amazing!
So that's the Crackles done! Which one is your fave out of these three?
God, I love the shape of your nails!!!!!! <3
ReplyDelete@L - Awww thanks babe! I have been growing them out since a major nail break a couple of weeks ago! :)
ReplyDeleteReally love the combinations you made and at least at the end your pictures worked out great!
ReplyDeleteLove love love Cracked Concrete over Re-fresh mint!! Your nails looks fantastic btw!
ReplyDeletei love the 2nd and 3rd combos.
ReplyDeleteI'm not that into crackle varnish, but the third one looks pretty good :)
ReplyDeleteMy favourite is Cracked Concrete over Re-fresh Mint, I love that! Good work with all the combos :D
ReplyDeleteo0o0o my first crackle was Black Mesh over Re-Fresh Mint! :D I'm glad I wasn't the only one to see it's perfect crackle-base qualities!
ReplyDeleteThese crackles take a fair amount of practice, but you're on the track. :) Don't be discouraged, they're so much fun when you get it down! Plus I know sometimes when you're swatching things you just have an -off- day, and any stupid little thing that can go wrong will go wrong. Well this one's behind you, and it'll be clear swatching from here on in ;D
P.S. I was going through my polishes today and I stopped and looked at Skinny Dip'n In Lake Michigan, and thought of you! What a pretty shimmery nude. Beach classy!
ReplyDeleteI think I love Cracked Concrete. I might pick one up on Saturday :)
ReplyDeleteI've been eyeing Crackle Concrete for a while~ I think I may need to go out on a search for it!
ReplyDeleteI like the concrete and broken hearted but am still on the fence. I have a $1 bottle of Cover Girl Jack-o-lantern crackle that might have to see me through this crackle phase.
ReplyDeleteCrackled Concrete over Re-Fresh Mint looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteI order online and they are sold out everywhere! Very annoying. I can't wait to get them.
