OPI Texas - Part 2

Hey everyone! Sorry for the delay in getting this post up! I realised when I started doing the swatches that I had been only sent 5 of the 6 other colours from the Texas collection! So I "ummmed and ahhhed" about doing the post and then decided that I'll just add the photos of the other colour and update the post when it arrives.

This part of the collection features the new "sorbet" polishes which to me, having now swatched them, translates to "jelly"!!!!

I personally love the idea of jelly polishes, but the VNL issues tend to put me off them. However, with the exception of one, which I bet you can pick from the photos alone, I absolutely adored this formulation! So, on to the swatches!

Y'all Come Back Ya Hear? - Orange jelly. It's a regular orange, but this was my favourite out the the bunch. This was three coats. I just loved the intensity of the colour!

Houston We Have A Purple - Purple berry jelly. I loved how this looked in the bottle, but sadly it was really sheer and streaky on the nail even with three coats. On application alone, this was my least favourite.

Guy Meets Gal-Veston - Coral jelly. This was my second fave in the collection. I love how summery this colour is. Three coats.

Do You Think I'm Tex-y - Pink berry jelly. This is like the pinker, lighter sister of Houston We Have a Purple. I wasn't feeling this colour. Three coats.

Big Hair... Big Nails - Peach jelly. Is it just me or is this colour almost exaclty the same as Guy Meets Gal-Veston?? This was three coats.

Hopefully I'll have swatches of Too Hot Pink to Hold 'Em in the next couple of days.

So what do you think? Are you feeling the love for the jellies?

  4. great swatches! I have Houston, we have a purple and Big hair, big nails. I'm actually wearing the "purple" now. I didn't have much issues with application, I used 3 coats and got good coverage for a jelly :)

I also find that this one changes depending on the light, in fluorescent light it actually looked a lot more purple then sunlight

  7. I'm just not feeling this collection! :( I wish I did, though, but I guess it's better on my wallet this way. XD

They look much better on your skin tone though, maybe that was my problem. ;3

  9. @rock-or-not - Big Hair Big Nails is definitely a fave! I wore it to work the other day and the girls couldn't stop raving about how good it looked. I love the "squishiness" of these polishes!

    @Sarah - They sure are!

@Amanda - Thanks hun and yep I agree, they are all really close to each other. I'm thinking I might give away some of them for that reason.

@Danielle - Thanks hun! I must be doing something wrong with Houston We Have a Purple because I have tried it twice now and both times coverage was crappy :( Is there a trick with it?

@Akuma Kanji - Jellies are the BEST!

@Annelise - Thanks gorgeous! It is definitely my fave one!

@heidi dilts - That's a shame that you aren't loving these! But yes, definitely better for the wallet! :P

@Gossip Culture - Guy Meets Gal-Veston is one of the better ones for sure!
