Rescue Beauty Lounge - Scrangie

Hi all! I am finally feeling a bit better tonight. A big thank you to those who sent me well wishes! :D

Today I am wearing Rescue Beauty Lounge's Scrangie.

Scrangie herself describes this polish as "a medium blue-based purple with green iridescence and green microshimmer". Personally, I feel that the shimmer is more teal than green, but hey, who am I to argue with the blogger that created it :P

I found it a little hard to apply but that might be because I put a base coat of nail strengthener on because my nails are suffering from all the meds I have been taking (and my cuticles, as you can see). It was still patchy after a second coat, but I was worried if I put a third it would never dry! I think this is a polish I'm going to have to swatch again, because I haven't done this stunner any justice with these photos :P

Don't forget there are only 2 more days to enter my BYS Wonderland Giveaway!

Chanel - Orange Fizz

I knew it was wishful thinking that I would actually wear a polish for a whole weekend! :P I am home sick with the flu today so of course, I took Rouge Fatal off and re-painted my nails.

I decided to go with a bright happy colour to counteract the way I am feeling. I already had my Chanel's out so I went with Orange Fizz.

Orange Fizz is a creamy coral with a touch of pink. In other pictures I have seen of it, the colour looks really soft and kind of muted, but on my nails it came out almost neon! I'm not sure if it is the Poshe topcoat I used that changed it, but to be honest, I love how bright and fun it is.

Sadly, application wasn't fantastic. I found it a little thick and it definitely had streaking issues. Due to the thickness of the polish I only used 2 coats, but 3 probably would have been better to even it out and get rid of the VNL.

Overall, I really like this colour and can see it being a fantastic pedicure colour for Summer.

Chanel - Rouge Fatal

Quick entry today as I have to pack my bag for my mini vacation that I'm going on over the weekend.

Today I'm wearing Chanel's Rouge Fatal from their recent Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss Collection.

Rouge Fatal is a deep scarlet, almost sanguine red. Application was flawless! Two coats went on smoothly and dried super quick. I decided to skip top coat because I'm in a hurry, but it didn't really matter because the polish dries really glossy.

Another winner from Chanel in my opinion! I will probably wear this classic red all weekend :D

I had to include the promo image for this collection because I think it is simply gorgeous!

Butter London - Fash Pack

I walked into the newsagent near my work this morning and saw a stack of Harpers Bazaar magazines with little bottles of polish attached to them. Initially, I was like "meh, its probably going to be some crappy brand and some even crappier colour".... Magazines giveaways are always sh** in my opinion, so I wasn't expecting much...  And then I saw a flash of taupey goodness staring back at me with a shiny black lid..... And I realised at that moment, it was none other than Butter London's Fash Pack...

This polish has constantly eluded me. I saw it on some blog that I can't even remember the name of, about what feels like 200 years ago, and knew it had to be mine.  I tried to order it from Lehved here in Australia, tried to find it online, even resorted to evilBay, but it was always sold out, or overpriced or shipping was outrageous. So I really don't know how to explain how content I feel having this polish in my Helmer now.... :p

Fash Pack is like China Glaze Ingrid's meeker, more taupe little sister. It definitely leans brown and has a fine gold shimmer in it, which is more apparent in the bottle than on the nail. However, it isn't nearly as dark or as brown as Ingrid. As a result, I found it to be much more wearable than Ingrid.

Application was a little streaky on the first coat but it evened out perfectly with the second coat. I used a quick coat of Seche QD and voilà!

Hope you are all having a great night! Don't forget to enter my BYS Giveaway, and we are almost half way there for my 50 Follower Giveaway! x

Scandal - Green Pearl

When I saw this beauty on You've Got Nail, it immediately jumped to the top of my lemming list. However, the sad truth was, I didn't think I would actually ever find this polish, because I just don't have that kind of luck!

So you can imagine my surprise when I walk into this random late-night chemist at 10pm the other night to get medicine for my mum, and there is an enormous stand of Scandal polishes!!! Naturally my sick mother became second priority and I ran to the stand to hunt Green Pearl down.

And here we have it ladies (and gents?)! In all its teal glittery glory! This polish is simply breathtaking!

I was also lured in by Blue Pearl, so I'll have swatches of that coming up. I think I'm going to have to go back to that chemist this weekend and see what other gems I can snatch up :D

Nfu Oh Spam

Finally managed to get some swatches of the Nfu Oh polishes I was sent the other day. Let me just start by saying that after applying the first one, I quickly realised that the colours I had been sent are all SUPER SHEER.... Which equals craptastic swatches! :P I apologise in advance for any psychological distress caused by seeing my horrible stained nails in these pics!

That's not to say that these polishes arent gorgeous, they are just too sheer to wear on their own. All of them would make fantastic glitter-esque top coats. All the pics below are 4 painstaking coats!!!

Nfu Oh Madness!

Just over a month ago I placed an order for some Nfu Oh from the Australian distributor of the brand, Vivid Nails, but sadly my package went missing. The girls at Vivid were great about it though and said that they would re-order the polishes for me and send them out again. They also said they would send a small gift as a "sorry we lost your package" gesture.

The "small gift" just arrived at my work, and I can't believe my eyes! They sent 6 polishes, 1 flower oil and 1 treatment!!!!!!

Get ready for the squeeeeeeing......  :P

Sorry for the crappy iphone pics. I'll have swatches and better pics tonight :)

Anyway, on to the good stuff....!

I must have been off my face when I skipped over this colour!

A couple weeks back, ALU’s Michelle gave us a sneak peek at Sea Spray from the China Glaze Anchor’s Away Spring 2011 collection topped with Lippmann Today Was a Fairytale! UH-MAZING!

Dear Eyeko, I'm not one to beg, but pwetty pwease send me these polishes!

And while I'm on the topic of begging, I'm pretty sure I would do ANYTHING to get my hands on these!!!!

Finally, I decided to change the layout of my blog. I'm not sure I'm 100% happy with it, but I like it better than the layout I had before...

No swatches today. Sadly I had to put my pet dog Zeus to sleep today as he was extremely ill with Meningitis :( He was 10 years old.

I'm so devastated but I know it was for the best. He was in so much pain. I hope he is resting peacefully now.

I am going to miss him so much :(

Chanel Les Khakis de Chanel Nail Collection

I finally got around to doing some swatches today. Sadly yesterday I was told by my vet that my dog is not going to get better so we have to put him to sleep on Monday morning. I am devastated to say the least. Anyway enough of my sadsack stories...!

The much anticipated Les Khakis de Chanel collection was released on the 10th September for Fashion's Night Out and I went and snapped up one of each of the colours straight away! I couldn't believe it, but Khaki Vert sold out while I was at the counter! A woman came in and bought 5 of each colour! I'm glad I didn't wait to buy these babies.

With that said, as I anticipated, I'm not sure these colours actually suit my skin tone. However, they are some of the best quality Chanel polishes I have ever used. The colour is extremely opaque for all three and they could all easily be 1 coaters, but I did 2 just in case. I will advise as to dry time and wear once I've had them on for a few days...

Chanel Sneak Peek

Here's a little preview of the colours I will be swatching tomorrow!

Color Club - High Society

Hi all! Today I am wearing Color Club's High Society from the Rebel Debutante collection. It is the only colour I own from the collection, but after seeing this post today, I think I am going to buy the rest of them!

High Society falls into the taupe category, but it is significantly lighter than its other lusted after counterparts, being OPI's You Don't Know Jacques,  Chanel's Particuliere or Eyeko's Posh Polish. It also leans a little purple with my skintone, but I rather like that. In terms of application, this polish is fantastic and  only needed 2 coats. I also used a thin coat of Seche.

On a side note, my nails are finally getting back to a decent length! I just have to grow out the middle one a bit more and they will all be perfect! Hope I haven't jinxed it now :P

China Glaze - Awakening Collection Halloween 2010

Even though Halloween isn't really a big deal in Australia, I had to get my hands on the new China Glaze Awakening Collection for Halloween 2010. I ended up buying Mummy May I and Ick-a-bod-y only as I had read that Zombie Zest is a dupe for SpaRitual's Optical Illusion, which I already own.

Sadly, application for these was a bit of a PITA. They were really gluggy and thick! Admittedly, I applied them really quickly, but after the second coat I still had patches, so a third was needed for a solid colour. Both dried quite gritty and lumpy so a top coat is definitely needed! However, they are both freaking gorgeous colours so I still love them. Ick-a-bod-y turned out to be my favourite! The orange/coppery glitter is simply stunning against the green/black base!

Orly - Space Cadet

So this post is super late :( And I only have one of the colours! I have been really, really slack this past weekend because I was super busy. My sister's bridal shower was on Saturday afternoon, and Sunday I spent most of the day catching up on study. This coming weekend I'll have plentyyyyyy of time to swatch! :)

Any-hoo! This is Orly Space Cadet! This is an amazing duochrome that flashes green, mauve, pink, purple, yellow, and copper.... When you put the first coat on the actual base appears to be a dark blue/green colour, but it builds up to this really dark purple with all those amazing flashes!

Revlon - Gray Suede

Sorry for being MIA, I have been really crook the past couple of days. I was hoping to swatch the Cosmic FX collection but I was too knackered, so here is one from last week - Revlon Gray Suede.

I love the mannequin hands trend and I particularly enjoyed this colour on me. Its got a really subtle shimmer which gives it a lil' sumfin' sumfin' over other nudes I have in my collection :p

I promise I'll do the Cosmic colours on the weekend :D
