Face of Australia Molten Metallics - Part II

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a fantastic Easter! We had an extra long weekend here in Australia because the ANZAC Day public holiday fell on Easter Monday. So we got 5 days off in total! My fiancee and I took the opportunity to fly to Adelaide to visit family and my 8 month old cousin. I had all these plans to blog over the long weekend, but I was having so much fun hanging out with family and going on day trips to the famous South Australian wineries, that I just didn't feel like getting online! Sadly, my holiday is over now so I'm back to work and back online!

Today I have Part II of my Face of Australia Molten Metallics swatches for you. If you missed out on Part I you can check out my swatches here.

White Gold - Light champagne frost.  This is a very cool toned, super frosty, but very opaque polish. I really liked the colour, but not a fan of the brush strokes. This was two coats.

Iron Ore - Black with silver and blue shimmer. This was one of my other favourites from the collection! It was really opaque and applied very easily. I used two coats for consistency. My camera didn't do this polish justice and you can barely the blue shimmer in my pics, but it is definitely there!

Gold - Yellow toned warm gold foil with silver shimmer. I was really surprised by this one. Despite some initial reservations, it actually looks really great on the nails and I think that is because it has such a great formula! I used two coats, but you could get away with one.

Flaming Lava - Vibrant red with gold micro shimmer. This polish is hands down the winner from the collection! A total must have! Not only does it look amazing, but it applied like a dream and has a super glossy finish! Sadly, when I was swatching this one, I dropped it on my tile floor and the bottle smashed into a million little pieces and red polish went everywhere! It took me an hour to clean up! As such, I will be heading out to my nearest Kmart to buy another bottle when the collection launches in May because I must wear this colour again!

Overall, I think the stand outs for this collection are Verdigris, Flaming Lava and Iron Ore, but I found all the polishes had a great formula, despite some of them being a little too frosty for my taste.

Molten Metallics is a limited edition collection that is due to be released in May and will be stocked in Priceline, Kmart, Big W and other selected pharmacies. The polishes in this collection retail for $4.95AUD each - which is a bargain if you ask me!

Face of Australia polishes are toluene, formaldehyde and dibutyl phthalate free and you can learn more about the company and their products here.

Swap with Cristina from Let Them Have Polish!

Hey everyone! Hope you are having a great weekend! Sadly I have felt really unwell this weekend, so I spent all day in bed today. The weather was really crappy outside, so even though I felt sick it was kind of nice to just chill out and watch movies.

I didn't really feel up to doing my nails or swatching but I really wanted to show you guys the amazing swap package that Cristina from Let Them Have Polish sent me last week! She was kind enough to help me get my hands on the China Glaze Tronica's that I wanted and she also included a stack of other surprise polishes in there as part of our swap!

I absolutely love the polishes she sent me! Thank you Cristina! You are a sweetheart!

I was hoping to swatch them all this weekend, but as I said, I honestly didn't feel up to swatching. But the other day when I was playing with the BB Couture polishes I got, I decided to experiment with some glitter over the top of Painted Lady and I used the Milani Jewel FX in Gold that Cristina included in the package!

I'm not sure I like the combo (I love them individually though!), but it was just a bit of fun, so I thought I'd show you..... (Sorry, photos aren't the best!)

In other news, I have finally replied to all the comments you guys have posted over the past couple of weeks! Never again will I let myself get so behind in comment replies! I'm so sorry for being such a slacker!

In the process of replying to comments, I realised that I never posted Part 2 of my China Glaze Anchor's Away swatches! haha! What a scatter brain! I think the time has passed to post them, but I might still do it if I run out of other things to post!

China Glaze Strawberry Fields

Quick post today! I'm super tired!

China Glaze Strawberry Fields graced my nubbins today (my poor middle finger - it looks so sad!).

This polish is a gorgeous warm pink with gold glass flecks. I love it enough that I think I'll re-swatch it when my nails grow out again!

This was three coats.

I'm off to bed now! x

Zoya Flame

Hi all! Sorry for the lack of posts over the weekend. I've had a lot going on, but I won't bore you with the details! I also realise I haven't posted the winner of my 50 Follower Giveaway yet! I'm sorry guys! I promise I will do that in the next day or two :D

Today I have some more colours from the Zoya Flame collection. All were three coaters, except for Valerie which only needed two coats. Despite the need for the extra coats, all these polishes applied really well.

Gloria - Rosy pink with gold, pink and red shimmer. Not a colour I would usually go for, but I did like the way this looked on my nails. Some people have suggested this is a dupe for MAC's Bad Fairy. I gifted my bottle of Bad Fairy to Jacie at You've Got Nail, so I can't compare the two, but from what I can remember, Bad Fairy had a far more distinct duochrome effect that Gloria. Gloria has a metallic/shimmery finish. So I'd say they aren't dupes...

Valerie - Dark purple with pink, red and gold sparkle. This one has a distinct duochrome effect in the bottle, but it is lost a little on the nail. However, that doesn't make this polish any less spectacular. This is definitely my favourite from the collection!

Tiffany - Pink/peach with golden foil flakes. This colour is spectacular in the bottle, but a total fail with my skin colour - it looked really dated... Like something my grandmother would wear... :P

And to round off the post, I included another photo of Crystal....  Second time wearing Crystal and I still don't love this polish! haha!

I think I will probably give Crystal, Gloria and Tiffany away in a swap or should I do another giveaway?! Or should I keep them? What do you think? x

Zoya - Crystal

No chatter tonight! Super tired....

Zoya Crystal is from their recent Flame collection. Zoya describe it as "a light, silvered shiny blue metallic foil with sparks of brilliant yellow gold".. I really can't do better than that :P

It's not my cup of tea, but the polish itself is gorgeous! Zoya have been pumping out some fantastic colours in their recent collections! Keep up the good work Zoya! :P

Edit: Forgot to mention what application was like! In all honesty, it was fab! I used three thin coats. It looks streaky on my pointer in the photo for some reason, but I promise that was just the photo. It was really smooth and even on my nails. x

OPI - Tease-y Does It

I wasn't going to do a swatch tonight because I'm meant to be studying, but sadly, my precious Fortune Teller chipped like crazy today. So of course I repainted them tonight and I thought, if I'm going to repaint them, I might as well take photos.... And if I'm going to take photos, well heck, I might as well do a blog post! :P Sure, my entire legal career rests on me passing my final exam tomorrow, but who wants to leave the house with chipped nail polish right!? :P

OPI Tease-y Does It is my second favourite Burlesque - a vampy, brownish plum colour with stacks of red micro-glitter. In the bottle, it has flashes of gold and looks like it could be a duochrome, but this doesn't translate to the nail. That's ok though, because this colour is glorious!

Check out more pics of this beauty after the jump!

OPI - Glitzerland

Super quick post today! Sorry for not being able to post every day at the moment! My studies are keeping me really busy :( But only a week to go and I will be all finished! :D

Sadly, my birthday manicure was a disaster so I didn't take any photos. I decided to take it off today and put something quick and simple on, so I chose Glitzerland :p

Glitzerland is a cool toned gold with lots of sparkle! I had to use three coats to get good coverage. I topped it off with a coat of Seche. For some reason my hands photographed really red :S

And here is a photo of a gorgeous rose that my boy brought home for me yesterday. He is such a sweetie :D

Thanks for stopping by! Oh and don't forget about my Giveaway! x

Zoya - Cheryl

Hey everyone! Today I'm wearing Zoya Cheryl from their recent Wicked & Wonderful collection.

Cheryl has a dark brown/chocolate base with tons and tons of copper and gold microglitter. It is one of those "lit from within" colours which I absolutely love. Cheryl applies so well! If you were really careful with your application you could probably get away with one coat. I did two coats just to be safe and added one coat of Seche. Absolutely stunning!

You can really see the copper and gold micro glitter in this closeup.

I have exams over the next couple of weeks, so I might be MIA for the next few days, but I will try my best to post as often as I can! :D

Butter London - Fash Pack

I walked into the newsagent near my work this morning and saw a stack of Harpers Bazaar magazines with little bottles of polish attached to them. Initially, I was like "meh, its probably going to be some crappy brand and some even crappier colour".... Magazines giveaways are always sh** in my opinion, so I wasn't expecting much...  And then I saw a flash of taupey goodness staring back at me with a shiny black lid..... And I realised at that moment, it was none other than Butter London's Fash Pack...

This polish has constantly eluded me. I saw it on some blog that I can't even remember the name of, about what feels like 200 years ago, and knew it had to be mine.  I tried to order it from Lehved here in Australia, tried to find it online, even resorted to evilBay, but it was always sold out, or overpriced or shipping was outrageous. So I really don't know how to explain how content I feel having this polish in my Helmer now.... :p

Fash Pack is like China Glaze Ingrid's meeker, more taupe little sister. It definitely leans brown and has a fine gold shimmer in it, which is more apparent in the bottle than on the nail. However, it isn't nearly as dark or as brown as Ingrid. As a result, I found it to be much more wearable than Ingrid.

Application was a little streaky on the first coat but it evened out perfectly with the second coat. I used a quick coat of Seche QD and voilĂ !
