Rescue Beauty Lounge - Bangin

Hey everyone! How was your weekend? I had a super lazy weekend, which was a nice change. I got to do a whole bunch of swatching yesterday so now I have stuff to post for the rest of the week! Yay!

Today I'm showing you Bangin by Rescue Beauty Lounge which was from the Spring 2010 collection. Bangin is a super bright coral red cream.  The formula was a little on the thin side, so I still had slight VNL after two coats, but it wasn't a deal breaker. I don't wear colours like this all that often, but this is  really gorgeous! For some reason, red nails remind me of going to the nail salon with my mum as a little girl and sitting there while she had he acrylics done. I can't even remember if she wore red nail polish, but every time I wear red polish I think of that!

Now you will have to excuse my cuticles in these photos. I took these pics about a week and half ago when my cuticles were ragged from the cold weather. Apart from showing you the colour, the other reason I wanted to post the pics was because I had a different nail shape in them. Should I use this nail shape again or stick with my square nails? I feel like I want a more natural shape, but I also feel like my nails and fingers look longer with square nails. I am so ridiculously undecided about it I thought I would ask you guys! For a good example of me with square nails, check out this post.

Let me know what you think in the comments!

Rescue Beauty Lounge - Stormy

Before I get stuck into today's post I just want to say thank you so much to everyone who sent me well wishes in my last post. I actually inspected my finger again today and the majority of the damage is on the underside of the finger. So I'm hoping I'll be able to get back to swatching sooner than I thought!

In the mean time, today I have photos of Rescue Beauty Lounge's Stormy which I took about a week or so back. A couple of my followers suggested I do an RBL month since I have a few (*cough cough*) RBL polishes and I had started compiling the shots of my collection. So until I get back on track, I think I will show you all the photos of what I have so far!

Stormy is exactly as the name suggests - a stormy grey creme. I absolutely love the colour, but found application was a little streaky - you can see the patches on my ring finger. It has been ridiculously hot here in Sydney the past couple of weeks (think 100°F to 104°F!) so I have a feeling this polish was doing all sorts of crazy things because of the weather!

Apart from that tiny little issue, Stormy dried really quickly and looked fabulous!

Rescue Beauty Lounge - Smitten

Today I saw this post by Michelle at ALU about Rescue Beauty Lounge's new Spring 2011 collection and my instant reaction was "ohhhhhhhh I must own these!"

And then I remembered that a couple of months ago I went through a bit of an RBL craze and purchased quite a few polishes from the RBL collection... When I saw a few, I mean this many.....

I know... I'm insane.... I don't know why I bought so many.... They are so expensive and I am still paying them off my credit card... But since I have them, I thought that I should give them some more love on my blog, since I haven't really swatched a lot of the colours... And no, I will not be buying the new collection... Even though that dusty lavender is to die for...

Getting back on track,  today I have Smitten on my nails which is light pink creme. Ji calls it a "light lilac pink creme" on her site, but I'm not seeing the lilac.

This polish is a gorgeous colour, but application wasn't great. Being such an opaque creme, it was really streaky, even on the second coat, so I had to add a third. Because the polish is a bit on the thick side, the third coat made my nails look kind of lumpy.

Despite these issues, after a coat of Poshe, it actually dried quite evenly and the end result is fantastic. You can still see some patches in the photos, but you can't see these on my nails. I have a bit of a tan at the moment and Smitten looks fantastic against my skin, so maybe I'm a little biased!

What do you think of this colour?

Before I sign off, just a quick reminder that there are only a few more hours left to get your name down for my NARS Zulu Giveaway, so make sure you check it out! x

Rescue Beauty Lounge - Housewives of Tudor England

Hey everyone! Yesterday I finished my exams! After we were done, my friends and I went to a local bar and ended up staying there a little too long.... :( So I was like a bear with a sore head today! Even though I wasn't feeling 100%, it was sooooo good to be able to spend the day resting and watching TV instead of studying!

Today I have the most recent collection from Rescue Beauty Lounge, Housewives of Tudor England. The collection consists of four colours named after some of the wives of King Henry VIII.

Check out swatches after the jump!

Rescue Beauty Lounge - Scrangie

Hi all! I am finally feeling a bit better tonight. A big thank you to those who sent me well wishes! :D

Today I am wearing Rescue Beauty Lounge's Scrangie.

Scrangie herself describes this polish as "a medium blue-based purple with green iridescence and green microshimmer". Personally, I feel that the shimmer is more teal than green, but hey, who am I to argue with the blogger that created it :P

I found it a little hard to apply but that might be because I put a base coat of nail strengthener on because my nails are suffering from all the meds I have been taking (and my cuticles, as you can see). It was still patchy after a second coat, but I was worried if I put a third it would never dry! I think this is a polish I'm going to have to swatch again, because I haven't done this stunner any justice with these photos :P

Don't forget there are only 2 more days to enter my BYS Wonderland Giveaway!

Rescue Beauty Lounge - Starfish Patrick

Starfish Patrick! There are no words to describe how much I love you!

If I didn't have what seems like a bajillion other colours to try I would wear this baby every day!

SP is a lovely coral peach which makes my skin seem really tanned even though I'm white as a ghost at the moment.

I'll be honest, application wasn't fantastic. There is still some VNL with three coats (more noticeable in the second pic) and streakiness was a bit of an issue - but - I'll learn to live with it because the colour is divine!!!
