Essie Winter 2010 Part 1

Hey Everyone!

I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas! Mine was a little hectic as we had to visit three lots of family, but all in all I had a lovely Christmas. I was also a very lucky girl and was given a new camera! Say hello to my new Canon DSLR!

This means no more crappy swatch photos! However, it also means I am going to have to look after my cuticles better (as you will see from the photos below!). Apologies in advance for the horrible cuticles! :s Please also excuse the nubbins. I had a killer break on my middle finger a couple of days ago so I had to file them all down *cries*.

Today I have swatches of three of the new colours from Essie's Winter 2010 collection. The collection consists of 6 chic and elegant wintery colours. Even though it is summer here in Oz, the colours are so gorgeous, I will definitely be wearing them!

Check out the pics after the jump!

Going Incognito - Deep emerald green creme. This colour is gorgeous! I don't normally like greens like this (Jade is the New Black just looked odd on me), but this one is stunning. It is so glossy as well! I didn't use any top coat for the pics. This was two coats.

Hot Coco - Dark brown-grey creme. We have seen this colour now quite a few times from other brands, but you can never have enough of this classic, chic colour. Only downside - Hot Coco was a little patchy to be honest and I probably could have used a third coat.

Smokin Hot - Charcoal brown grey with purple undertones. This is one of my favourites from the collection. It's so smoky and sexy! I love finding interesting alternatives to the black nails look and this is definitely a winner in my books! As you can see from the two photos, in some lighting it looks dark brown in other lighting it definitely appears charcoal grey! I love it!

(Please excuse the remnants of red polish on the skin of my middle finger!)

That's all for today! I'll have the other three colours in the next couple of days! Wishing you all the best for the festive season!

  6. @ Zara - Thanks gorgeous!

@ Katie - I used a Canon IXUS 80IS before. However I found it didn't always take colour accurate pictures...
